I love games! I love to play them by myself, with my kids and with adults. I especially love playing games around the holidays and that’s exactly what we did over the Thanksgiving weekend. We tried out two new games from Stratus Games, DiceAFARI and Off Your Rocker.

The kids played DiceAFARI first.

This is not a fast moving game, but rather a game that involves thinking and strategy. We had kids ages 6,10 & 11 play together and they all really enjoyed it. The idea is to travel the board and collect pictures of different animals. You can set the board up in numerous different designs, the kids chose the rhino design for this game. I loved that as I watched the kids playing, you could see them really thinking about their move and planning the best strategy. I think this is a great game to get kids thinking and having fun at the same time.

Do you see the rhino?

After the kids had their fun it was time for the whole family to join in. We all played Off Your Rocker. This is a HILARIOUS game!

To play the game one person is the ‘psychiatrist’ and everyone else are ‘patients’. All of the ‘patients’ have the same quirk and the ‘psychiatrist’ has to figure out what everyone’s quirk is by asking questions. This game says that it’s for ages 12 and up, but we actually included everyone, the youngest was 6. While I feel that this would be a great all adult game, the kids had a blast playing with us and we just had to be more selective about which quirk to portray so as to make it workable for the kiddos. I have to say, every one of us, kids and adults alike, were laughing hysterically. This is an A+++ in my book, Stratus Games hit it out of the park. It was a fabulous addition to our Thanksgiving family get together and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Stratus Games has other family friendly games that look like lots of fun. They are also on Facebook and Twitter. I really hope you’ll check them out, you won’t be disappointed!

Wife, mother, author, homeschooler these are just some of my many hats. My current season of life keeps me very busy and I'm loving it. When I finally take my hats off and have a minute to myself you will probably find me curled up with a good book or watching an episode of Downton Abbey.
