When it comes to faucet and shower fixtures for your home, its so important to be sure you are choosing quality pieces that will last. We need durable fixtures that won’t crack or deteriorate and create a potential leak or other issue. I recently learned about Danze products, they consider their products to be art that is designed to be used. So you will find attractive products that will stand the test of time. We had a chance to review their Parma Two Handle Lavatory Faucet in Chrome.  I plan on using it the bar that I am building, but set it up temporarily in the guest bathroom. Check it out in action:

The Parma‘s styling is great.  It looks fantastic.  The finish is excellent with no visible flaws. As odd as this sounds, I like the packaging they used.  The box has a molded plastic bottom with dividers and everything fits neatly in its place.  Typically, faucets & the various parts are just shoved in a box or even worse, in multiple boxes and it’s just a big mess.  This was thoughtfully laid out.

The casting quality is very good.  It has a good weight to it with no “cheap” feel.  The valves work well and are not loose or flimsy feeling.  I like the way the supply lines screw into the faucet base.  Others that I have installed, (including the $450 Grohe faucet that I moved to install this one), are pre-installed and can’t be removed or replaced if needed. However, I did feel the supply lines were too short, I think they should include longer lines. The rod to actuate the sink drain didn’t quite fit between the two lines without first bending it. I think the rod and/or hole it goes through should be re-shaped to properly fit past the supply lines. The swivel goose neck of the faucet feels a bit loose compared with the Grohe, and it’s not removable / replaceable should something go wrong in the future. I think the sink drain connection should definitely be changed to a solid rod connection because it doesn’t work well and could deform over time leaving the drain not working. I would suggest picking up a more sturdy Teflon style tape to use before you get ready to install your faucet.

→ The Parma Two Handle Faucet’s hot & cold valves are subtly marked with red & blue. This is good for the kids who have not yet learned that left is hot and right is cold.

I love that the hot & cold valves are subtly marked with red & blue. It’s not overly obvious & strange looking like some, yet it’s not unmarked like others. This is good for the kids who have not yet learned that left is hot and right is cold, especially in my house where the water is extremely hot.

Overall, I think the Parma Two Handle Faucet is great. I can’t wait to install it in my brand new bar!
