5 Awesome Ideas to Re-Use Plastic Milk Jugs

We've been working on being more creative around here. I was shocked to think that Americans drink about 156 million gallons of milk per year, meaning there is a lot of empty milk jugs to use for other purposes than just sending them off to a land fill.  I have found some really creative ways to re-use milk jugs to help expand their life span around your home.  We have been using them for crafting recently. There are so many options that are also fun or useful. Check them out!

1. Watering Can

This is a simple concept, yet so creative. Why buy a watering can when you can re-use a milk jug! Thumbs up for this idea!

2. Crafting

For Easter, we used milk jugs to craft Easter Baskets. It was such a fun and rewarding thing to do. The sky is the limit, get your creative caps on. I've seen so many great craft ideas using milk jugs, one of my favorites was an igloo made out of them.

3. Organization

If you can get really creative, you can use your empty milk jugs for organizing. This seems to work really nicely with kids "stuff" like crayons and all of the those little things that seem to create clutter.

4. Planting

Use milk jugs as planters. Now this is a super cool idea! There are a variety of ways to use milk jugs to plant including these elaborate hanging planters. I think I am going to do this myself once I can find an area to hang them from.

5. Bird Feeders

This is a great activity to do with kids too! Use a milk jug to make a bird feeder. Sure, they aren't as fancy as a store bought one, but it will sure feel good when birds start visiting your homemade creation.
