Here are six simple blogging tips that have been mulling around in my head since I’ve either experienced them first-hand, still struggle with them or visited a blog that could have used a little help.
- Keep your blog layout as simple and clean looking as possible.
- Consider a white background. Other colors may look nice and cute but in the end the white is easier on the eyes.
- Use a simple and modest font. Steer away from large fonts. Keep in mind that your readers can use the zoom feature on their browser if needed.
- Don’t go crazy with ads and use making money as your main focus. Even if it is your main overall focus, build your blog up with good content. Then gradually incorporate a moderate mix of affiliate links and ads. Too many ads and little content will scare readers away.
- Don’t get too big for your britches. In other words, make sure you always have time to interact with your readers.
- Set your blog up so that when readers click on a link a new window or tab opens. If you do not, chances are once they click they won’t be coming back. Check out this tutorial on Blogger Sentral to learn how.
